Adventuring Wednesday

On Wednesdays, Diana and I try to go on adventures. Yesterday, our goal was to go to a special open-in-the-winter day at a somewhat local ice cream shop. We were nervous about whether it was going to go down or not due to an approaching storm. Luckily, we were able to make it, and we enjoyed soft-serve vanilla, mine with p.b. cups and Diana's as a peanut overload sundae, at Tone's Cones in Phoenix, NY. It was a nice change of pace from our usual afternoons.

When we got home, I made a quick dinner of boxed mac & cheese with tuna added and frozen peas. Dinner was eaten in front of an episode of Abbot Elementary in our cozy living room.

For this weekend, I am planning a soup supper for some of my family and friends. (Space in our single-wide mobile home is at a premium!) I invited 17, and so far I have 11 yeses, 2 noes, and 4 maybes. I am going to make homemade broccoli cheese soup, homemade chicken & wild rice soup, a fancy garden salad, and some snickerdoodle blondies. Everything else will come from the store to save myself grief!

The weather has turned in a decidedly winter direction at the moment with the ground blanketed with snow and very cold temps predicted for the weekend. I am hoping some fun cooking and lots of good company will help ameliorate any negative effects from the weather conditions.

On the lunch plate: Leftover stuffed crust pizza

On the dinner plate: Homemade fish fingers, homemade stovetop mac & cheese, pepper sticks

On the music machine: P!NK, First Aid Kit, Mayday Parade
